30 Apr Blendhub extends its food safety control systems in India
Premium Ingredients Food Services India adapts its quality systems to obtain the FSSC -22000 certification.
Premium Ingredients Food Services India, located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Sri City, north of Chennai (India) and included in the trademark Blendhub, is working on the improvement of its quality management system to incorporate during this month of February the food safety certification FSSC -22000, and to renew the quality certificates ISO 22000 , ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, of which it already has.
The company, which is at the higher end of all business practices in India and noted for its continued commitment to the protection of the environment and to safety and quality issues, was the first one in the SEZ to obtain the certifications ISO 22000, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, and was recognized for it in the “Sri City Awards 2012”.
Developed by the Global Initiative for Food Safety (GFSI) and based on the Standards UNE-EN ISO 22000 and BSI PAS 220, the FSSC 22000 certification will guarantee the compliance by Premium Food Ingredients Food Services India of the necessary requirements for ensuring the safety of perishable food products processed in its facilities, and will reinforce the guarantees given by the certifications ISO 9001, which assures its quality management system, and ISO 22000, which validates its food safety system.
The Chennai based enterprise also has the necessary measures to generate minimal environmental impact, as accredited the ISO 14001 certification, which also will be renewed this year. It has reduced electricity consumption per kilo of ingredients produced and the level of waste generated, and constantly monitors air quality, energy emissions, wastewater treatment and noise levels.
Regarding plant personnel safety, Premium Ingredients Food Services India has made significant investments in equipment as well as a recent emergency mock drill in which the whole staff participated and was accompanied with a theoretical training by the local fire fighting authorities.
